How we made the perfect beard oil for spring
When it comes to my favourite time of year, spring tops them all. Everything seems to spring back to life as the days get longer and green makes it's triumphant return.. Nothing beats kicking back on the patio for the first barbecue of the season.
To celebrate spring last year, we introduced you to Marin. It was a bright, lush blend of Clary Sage and Lavender, with floral notes from Ylang Ylang III and a bright burst of peppermint that lingered nicely.
Since then, we've been tinkering with the scent slightly, and we think you'll enjoy this year's blend even more. We recommend dropping a few drops into your hand when you receive your bottle and deeply inhaling the scent. It's an intoxicating reminder that spring is right around the corner.
The scent
When we first created the scent for Marin, we knew that we wanted to celebrate our home here on the West Coast, specifically the islands of the Juan de Fuca Strait. If you've ever been to this cluster of islands, you know that it's one of Canada's best kept secrets. Lush rainforests, sea spray on your face, and some of the best wine country in North America can be found here.
We wanted Marin to take us back to our favourite spots on the islands. The lush base of Clary Sage, Bergamot and Cedar Leaf are like a breath of forest air. Floral top notes added the aquatic tones we were looking for, and Lavender added the dry finish to complete the blend.
This year, however, we've refined the blend further. Fresh lime adds a citrus sweetness and a refreshing salt-air twang to the blend, and the base was reworked to further ground the blend. We're sure that it'll be a favourite.
The Base
Like all our Beard Oils, Marin is formulated with our Dry Base of high-quality carrier oils and Vitamin E. The blend is light and hydrating, and will leave your beard and skin comfortable and moisturized. The blend won't leave any heaviness or oiliness on your skin either.
Marin launches on the 13th, and a week earlier for our member's community. Be sure to grab your bottle before we run out!
