Use a pea sized ammount and work through from the roots.

Using the back of your nail, scrape a small amount into palm
Warm up the balm by rubbing it between your palms
Work the balm through the beard from the roots out.

Got a shorter beard?
I'm really enjoying this non scented beard balm. It's got great hold yet melts in your fingers immediately. Not a big fan of heavily scented balms so this is right up my alley!!
