Witch Hazel Distillate

Witch Hazel Distillate

What is it?

Witch Hazel Distillate is a distilled tincture made from the leaves, flowers and branches of the Hamamelis virginiana shrub. The extraction process also employs ethanol to fully extract the benefits from Witch Hazel

How is it made?

Recently cut, partially dormant twigs, leaves and flowers are soaked in water to extract the desired compounds from the plant. The solution is then distilled, and alcohol is added to the final distillate.

Why use it?

Witch Hazel Distillate is a great astringent, due to natural tannins extracted during the production process. These natural astringent properties help to tone the skin, remove excess dirt and oil and tighten the pores. Witch hazel also contains procyanadins, resin, and flavonoids, all of which add to its soothing, anti-inflammatory properties

What is it in?
